Spain is the largest producer of olive oil in the world. It dedicates an area of 2.5 million hectares to olive cultivation (equivalent to the island of Sicily).
In Spain, most olive oil is produced in the south. By region, Andalusia accounts for 80% of Spanish production. The remaining 20% is distributed across other regions of Spain, including Castilla-La Mancha, Extremadura, Catalonia, and Aragon.

Also known as the “World capital of olive oil”. It stands out for the cultivation of the Picual variety. The dry climate of Jaén and its hot summers make it perfect for olive cultivation, and olive trees can be found everywhere, both in valleys and mountains. This “Sea of Olive Trees” is set to be proposed for inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage List as the largest man-made forest in the world.
